A Morning of Networking at Young Persons Market Place EventVictoria Billham
Today our Account Manager, Victoria, visited the Young Persons Market Place held at the Charles Burrell Centre, Thetford, to meet and network with local companies.
The morning started rather eventfully, with a swan taking a stroll along the path on London Road, occasionally joining morning commuters on the road. This swan was not harmed and actually used the road as a run way to take off once the coast was clear.
After this refreshing and humorous walk to the Charles Burrell Centre, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming hosts of the Young Persons Market Place event. Once the exhibiting companies had completed the setting up of their stalls, I sought out a familiar name, one of our existing clients. Having a delightful conversation with the wonderfully kind representatives of Amazon Leisure, I made my way around the hall connecting, discussing and having laughs with the exhibiting companies.
This event brought together a community of companies who were bursting with opportunities for the young people of Norfolk, and even some beyond. There were many friendly faces and a growing number of young job-seekers showing their interest in the attending businesses.
The Charles Burrell Centre, formally a school for over 50 years, aims to create opportunities through jobs and support for local businesses. This centre is a well-known and adored location which was why in 2013, when local people were informed that the site was set to be demolished, they came together to encourage the Norfolk County Council to make this site available for community use. In 2014, they successfully secured a 30 year lease and since this time, the centre has accommodated 40 organisations, playing fields and tennis courts.
With a lively and engaging atmosphere, I think I can speak on behalf of most attendees that this event was a great success and a delight to attend. Thank you for having me!
